A charitable bequest is a gift that is made through your will to a non-profit organization such as the Ottawa Valley Historical Society, owners and managers of the Upper Ottawa Valley Heritage Centre (formerly the Champlain Trail Museum).
These types of donations benefit our organization in numerous ways. They provide support for the museum, exhibits, conservation efforts, and even educational programming. They help provide for the future of the Heritage Centre.
One may arrange for the OVHS to receive:
personal property, real estate, or specific assets
a specific dollar amount
a percentage of your estate after other obligations (residuary bequest)
You can choose to support a specific program or collection at the Heritage Centre, but unrestricted gifts allow us to allocate funds to the areas of greatest need.
A will bequest will support the Ottawa Valley Historical Society's mission to continue to collect, preserve, research, exhibit, and interpret its collection of artifacts and archival materials.
